Encourage our children to think mind over matter.

The idea of what you think you can create is as old as yoga. William James pointed out in Principles of Psychotherapy, that the power of the mind could cure disease. He said, "The greatest discovery of my generation is that a man can alter his life simply by altering his attitude of mind." So start small with reminders that you are smart, you will make a friend and you will find your path, and you will see in short time that it all comes true for you. What you think, you become.

Frog Pose

Sanskrit name: Bhekasana

Frog pose opens both hips. This pose may look simple but the challenge of Frog pose is remembering to breathe and holding it for 5 to 10 breaths.

  1. Sink low in the hips and avoid leaning forward.
  2. Imagine a string lifting you from the crown of the head.
  3. Lengthen the spine and draw your navel to the spine.
  4. Jump your legs out into a straddle position.
  5. Sink low in your hips with both feet facing out. Knees should line up above your heels.
  6. Position hands in prayer pose in front of the chest or reverse prayer behind the back.
  7. To challenge yourself, lift one or both of your heels. Or try jumping like a frog! That's always a big hit!
