Mary Kaye teaches more than yoga, she teaches kids how to approach life!

A Big Thank You!

Thank you for the GIFT of yoga on Friday! The entire group enjoyed the session and left feeling energized yet relaxed. It was a great activity for mothers and daughters, and your approach was exactly what I had hoped for when planning this event. You eased in, providing challenges to those who were up for them and alternatives for those who needed a gentler version. I want to thank you for making a BIG difference to my daughter. She is now motivated by yoga... and being a teen, feels like she met a "celebrity" who is a down-to-earth mom, and who is into something like yoga that is a positive outlet for the mind and body.

Kate Robinson (and Claudia Robinson)

Mary Kaye is fabulous! My daughter has been taking yoga classes with her for over a year now, and she loves it! It is so cool to see the transformation of the kids...they anxiously enter class chattering and bouncing off the walls of the studio and one hour later...tada....they come out relaxed, calm and centered. Amazing!

Laura McNeill, mom of yogi Elle

You rock! The boys loved it and really enjoyed you! Thank you so much!!

Dan Colwell, NASM, Bolts U14 Boys soccer Coach

Alex loves your class and adores you. She talks about all the fun things you do (e.g. walk on your hands and turn out the lights with your feet!) and she practices poses all over the house constantly! She is thrilled to be learning all of this with you, and I love her openness and enthusiasm. You really do a wonderful, wonderful job.

Leigh Miller, parent of evolved yogi

I just wanted to send you a big thank you for joining our teacher training program this weekend. Not only was there tons of great info, but it was also sooo much fun. You're absolutely amazing at what you do. Any child would be blessed to have you in her life. Thank you!!

Emily Guadagnoli, yoga teacher trainee

O.K. You are too cool for words!

Your Fan, The Rev. John H. Finley IV, Head of School, Epiphany School

I want to tell you how much I absolutely love your book, Breathe: Yoga for Teens. I have not seen another book out there that tackles the issues facing teens and how yoga can help them to relate to those issues. Well done!

Mindy Hastings, Yoga Alliance

Caring, captivating and joyful, Mary Kaye inspires the children she teaches, opening a doorway for lifelong healthful living.

Tim Smith, Director of Junior Tennis, Longwood Cricket Club

It's amazing to see 30 troubled kids calmed by the soothing words and wonderful yoga techniques of Mary Kaye. Whenever Mary Kaye arrives, a buzz quickly spreads throughout the school with kids exclaiming, "the yoga lady is here!" This sentiment is always followed by kids begging her to come back. Mary Kaye has an unbelievable ability to get everyone involved, even children you don't expect to try it, and helps them turn their focus inward. This is not only soothing for the kids but relaxing for parents and teachers as well.

Chris Bechtel, Walker Home and School

My daughters have been on the living room practicing some of the poses from your book. You made a very positive impression with not only the girls but also the boys, not an easy thing to do. I hope this is something we can build on.

Michael Snoddy, Athletic Director, Meadowbrook School

I have noticed with any type of children's activity that the more energy and passion the instructor puts into a class, the stronger the response from the kids and the more they can take away from the class. Mary Kaye proves this theory every time she leads a yoga class. She is a magnetic presence for kids because she puts 100% of herself into each class. My daughter has grown from the benefits of yoga which include flexibility, self-esteem, body awareness and relaxation.

Ginny Keator, yoga momma

My energetic, hockey obsessed boys enter Mary Kaye's yoga class, and it immediately transforms them. She is pure magic around all children, and I am constantly amazed at the effect yoga has on my sons. She is the best!

Catherine Gordon, mother of three boys

We look forward to yoga because Mary Kaye makes us feel relaxed and peaceful. We like it when she dresses up like Rudolph or a Viking. None of our teachers ever do that!

Isabella and Emma (yogi sisters)

Thank you for a fabulous class for our Brownie troop. Throughout the week, I have run into moms and children who attended the class, and they are all raving about your teaching and how much they and their daughters enjoyed the yoga! I know I loved it. It was a great way for my daughter and I to connect. My daughter was reluctant to take the class and came out of class bouncing around and so happy.

Amy Boyd, Hunnewell Brownie Troop, after a Mom and Daughter Yoga Class

Mary Kaye is such a wonderful, positive influence on my 9 year old daughter, Emma. Through Mary Kaye's uniquely kid-oriented yoga program, Emma has learned so much about her body, balance and meditation. I am convinced that yoga has helped Emma with flexibility and training in other sports. She performs yoga and meditation at home when she is upset and it has helped her retain a sense of calm. Equally as important, she is learning so many great life lessons as only Mary Kaye can deliver them. Lessons like "be yourself", "don't sweat the little stuff", "beauty is on the inside" and "accept differences." Mary Kaye's practice of illustrating good living with hilarious but heartfelt stories is amazingly appealing to children. Emma remembers every little story Mary Kaye has told her (we hear them at dinner all the time). Mary Kaye is an extraordinary example to her students--she practices what she preaches by accepting all the students, praising them and guiding them to improve both in yoga and in life. We are truly indebted to her and are so happy she is a part of our lives!

Phyllis Spinale, mom of yogi student Emma

Lindsay has taken yoga with Mary Kaye for two years, and it's the highlight of her week! She never misses! Mary Kaye teaches the girls to see themselves as true yogis and to take their practice seriously. Her special gift of warmth and humor has instilled in Lindsay a new confidence in her ability to practice challenging things and also know that it's okay if she doesn't master something right away. Mary Kaye teaches perseverance, and more importantly, the ability to laugh a little when the going gets tough! I will strongly encourage my daughter's practice with Mary Kaye through her teen years for the good of her body but mostly for the nourishment of her SPIRIT!!!

Molly Aitken, mom of yogi Lindsay

My four children are blessed with the opportunity to practice yoga with Mary Kaye. For the past year, they have seen her on a weekly basis, and each of them looks forward to spending time with her. Every time she shares her patience, humor, kindness, flexibility and love with them. She has shown my children how incredible their bodies are and how they can empower themselves with a positive attitude. Mary Kaye approaches them with a huge smile and great confidence in what they can achieve. I have heard my children refer to using yoga on the soccer field, the swimming block, before a test and while disagreeing with a sibling. Mary Kaye gives kids tools to be successful both inside and outside of her studio. I am certain that because of knowing her, they are stronger athletes, but much more importantly they are better people. I am so grateful for the light she brings into our lives!
